Down the alley I went,
Bricked walls with looming shadows,
a cat meaowed, a dog barked,
chased by thundering sound of my own heart,
and the rustling of my gown dragging past,
too much to scare me,
in the ancient ruins of past,
but I kept moving back,
eyes alit with the hope,
of finding you there.

Grey smoke issuing
From the chimney
Is far better
As it flies
Without wings
Celebrating its freedom
Unlike those
Who are imprisoned and caged
Without bars and cages
Like me.
The memories’ rope
Slithers towards me
I give up every hope
As I lose, the disguised me
The shell breaks open
The walls crumble
The world is before me
Where once I stumbled
Then I’m wrapped
In several veils
For hours,
A killing silence prevails!

Proudly caress my garden
Leaf to leaf, in a run!
The flowers so fast asleep
Struggle slowly like a child
With soft petals in a heap!
The birds chirp as the sun wins
Out for food from their cozy nests,
With such brilliance their day begins!
My heart admires and never defies
I keep lying on the grass

The bustling crowd and running cars,
The echoed laughter and flashing lights,
Inquire me of your absence and I cry,
On the fog-covered window, I heave a sigh,
The icy breeze ruffles my hair,
And leaves it tangled,
The deserted miles stretch further,
And the moonshine fills every corner,
Beyond numbness, the chill cuddles me,
Wrappin’ its icy sheets around me,
It sings me a bitter-sweet song,
And I feel the loneliness for long.

The cloud cries
I search meanwhile,
For your bright eyes.
The memories of your lips,
Twisting into a smile
Are washed away,
By the waters of the Nile.
The fading lights,
The destructed meadow,
The whole night depicts,
My aimless shadow.
