Something From the past…

8th of April, 2011: Today, as I’m sitting at the threshold of an upstairs room and gaze outside; the weather is just lovely. It’s windy and raining after weeks of scorching and sweltering heat. The dust has settled; the beats of music in my ears and the soft and soothing lyrics are perfect. The sight of children playing in the rain gives me immense joy. Plus, the place from where I’m watching this world is atop everything.

All these times of ups and downs are and always will be. I’m not letting any sorrow knock at my heart or poke me as I think “Why not just savor the moment at hand? Why fear the ‘downs’ in the path of life while you currently are on the top – the ‘up’? ” I mean, come on! Fate is inevitable so why not chill and enjoy the present. Ah! Perceptions make a great difference at times. The song has changed now; the children playing in the rain have left too. Its dusk now…the sun of this day is setting. Darkness will prevail in a while but in spite of all this I feel a hope touching me and advices me from the inside, like this wind that’s caressing my face and blows through my hair. The hope whispers in my ear and willingly or unwillingly, I hold its finger and make up my mind to let fate take me wherever it wants! Let me also be like a tiny feather that blows here and there, wherever the wind takes it. In short, let me also be on the whims of fate.

Livelihood

I’m no Wordsworth to describe the scene

Nor am I the sensous Keats

But my heart sank as he worked,

In the scorching heat.

The insults were frequently shot at him

The pile of work continued throughout the day

It severely weakened his limbs

And the river of sweat made its way.

With shaking hands and gleeful heart

With a crease on the brow

And a mouth slightly parched

He pocketed the earning and marched.

His son remained ignorant

From spring to fall

And his daughter

Never played with a doll

Because I love birthdays.. and ♥YOU♥

It feels so nice to have a BIG family.. So many people who cares for you, right?
Even though I’m an oddity at home, living in  my own world, I still enjoy the mini get-to-gathers and parties.. Never mind the taunts from my elder sisters 😛

So this time it was Alaina (My niece) who gathered us all for her birthday party.
It seems only yesterday when she was born.

And then all of a sudden , all I knew was Alaina was naughty and cute 😛 I mean, it happened so quickly… She could sit and laugh and BE NAUGHTY!

  My Little Devil <3

On her birthday, she looked no less than a Princess but I wonder why every kid is so reserved and tensed on their birthday?  Perhaps they can feel all the eyes are on them and following them 😛
Same was with Leeno (Alaina’s nick)
She looked lost….

Back to the Birthday…
I liked it very much not only because the cake was yummy 😛
but because there were SOOOOOOOOOOOO MANY Balloons!!! Anddddd Cotton Candies… And kids.. and musical chair 😀
What?? I am a child’s soul locked in whatever body remember? So I love all such stuff …… 😛

Thanks ♥Leeno♥  for spreading so many smiles in just one year.. For me, kids have always been a centre of joy and affection.
.

May you Live a LONG life and have many more birthdays.
Love you sooooooo muchh…

PRINCESS

About a happy day that left a pain in my heart..

For a starter- I am neither very rich nor live a perfect life in a picture-perfect town. I live in a small house located in a narrow street in a crowded area.
Bur I have had some really happy moments.

This post is about a day- a memorable one.
It started with a litte girl who had Henna for sale. Since Eid was aproaching (A festival of Muslims in which the girls usually apply henna on their hands and wear bangals), the little girl went from house to house, with a few Henna cones in her hand, offering everyone to buy it.

When she entered our house, she approached me and wanted me to buy the Henna. I noticed that she had beautiful green eyes and she was wearing a small white Dupatta (A long scarf or shawl). In this area of Pakistan, its not a surprise if you see little Pashtoon girls wearing a Dupatta over their heads.

I talked to her and asked her a few  questions regarding her whereabouts and found her very jovial.  She laughed easily at small things and was pretty sharp without any fear or shyness.

Although I didnt buy anything from her, I offered a small amount of money which she took without any hesitation. This offer seemed very unusual to her,  she was glad  that she didnt sell anything yet recieved something.  After talking for a while, she hurried off and ran away with her white Dupatta waving behind her.

Her animated chat made me feel very happy and my happiness didn’t end there because after a while, she returned back with her other two sisters.

Apparently, she informed them about the money and they came to see me. I couldn’t help smiling.

The other two sisters were equally cute specially the youngest who seemed interested in my spectacles and I let her try them on 😛

When they felt at ease with me, we played and watered the plants and splashed it on one another, then they took turns on the swing and it gave me great joy listening to  their laughters. The innocence in their eyes caught my attention right from the first sight. Later I took their photos…

But now when I see these photos, I feel an ache in my heart- thinking they must have dreams unfulfilled.  I wish and pray to Allah that he grants me all the opportunities so that I can help His people. These innocent souls are not meant to be wandering in the streets earning for their livelihood. They should be in a school, getting educated and playing and enjoying life like other kids of their age out there.   I direly wish to do something for them, and other such kids. 😦
