The early rays of the sun
Proudly caress my garden
Leaf to leaf, in a run!
The flowers so fast asleep
Struggle slowly like a child
With soft petals in a heap!
The birds chirp as the sun wins
Out for food from their cozy nests,
With such brilliance their day begins!
My heart admires and never defies
I keep lying on the grass
Till the sun slowly kisses my eyes!
Multan has proved itself a city worth living in. When I first moved here, I felt very confined but now I take a walk in the beautiful Polo ground and admire nature. Jahanzeb Polo Cup is held every year in this ground. This year I had the pleasure of attending it. Apart from polo, tent pegging and donkey race were held too which was quite amusing. 😛
Unfortunately I could not capture photos of the final of Jahanzeb Polo Cup but here are a few clicks….
About 1.5 hours drive from Kalam, there is a famous Lake Mahudand which literally means a Pond of fish.
In the entire Kalam, you will see crystal-clear water flowing with enormous speed till you reach Mahudand. This place holds tranquility, the flow of water is almost unnoticeable and it is so BLUE! But beware! the depth of it is still unmeasured. It looks calm but is extremely deep..
Here are some photos that I took….
The seemingly stagnant water
A bit away from the main Lake The view is Splendid
It’s love, running in my veins
See, it’s crimson and sparkling
Calling you with all the lovely names
It’s autumn, all the colours are mellow
Ah! I heard, a whispering fellow!
Moving silently with the wind
I’ve touched a rose in my hair
Love and elation,
No cry, no despair.
I feel you smiling inside,
The shining face, I need to hide.
With the swinging of the bough,
Silently began, a shower of leaves
I giggled and thought, ‘What is Autumn?’
The answer came, ‘When every leaf is a flower.’

From the sweltering heat of summer people tend to take refuge in the nothern areas of Pakistan that holds great scenic beauty and pleasant weather one of such places is Kalam.
With the name Kalam, the image of lush green mountains, ever-flowing streams, snow-caped peaks and beautiful meadows come to one’s mind.
Located in the upper reaches of Swat valley (Which is also a great tourists spot) , Kalam is about 2000 meters above sea level.. It is about 270 km drive from the capital of Pakistan.

What else? There’s so much over there for people like me who loves photography and hiking. Wherever you go, you would be tempted to capture as many images as possible.
Forests of pine trees, river Swat that flows through this region, Apple Peach and Plum trees (even Cherries), Glaciers and streams will leave you awestruck.
The people of Kalam are extremely hard-working, nearly every house has its own fruit gardens, vegetable patches and cattle. You will meet shepherds and kids with rosy cheeks and beautiful eyes who are collecting wood or selling fruits and other items.
Falak Ser is a famous peak, and there’s another unknown high peak that remains covered in the snow even in Summers.
Mahudand (Which means a Pond of Fish) is an extremely beautiful pond that is famous for Trout.
Fried Trout is perhaps the best food that one should try.
After the flood destroyed this beautiful valley, people rebuilt everything and it took almost 4 years for the tourists to go there. The government of Pakistan organised a festival this year mainly to attract tourists and restore the lost charm of Kalam
The main Bazar of Kalam depicts the true culture of the region. Handicrafts, dresses and jewellery are the items that will catch your attention for sure. Made by the local people, these items are extremely colorful and just the sight of them is amazing!
You will come across Groups of friends enjoying their time dancing with the folk songs. Rabab and flute if played in this region will warm up your heart and let your grief fly away with the tune…
For more photos.. Stay tuned 😀
PS .. How could I forget the Magnificent sky.. Covered in cotton-white clouds during the day and SO MANY STARS at night and I really mean it when I say SO MANY. The night the moon is full is a treat to watch, simply picture-perfect!
Somehow after reading the title, thats the photo which came to my mind.
As I was watching the slow drizzle far away, a few drops were blown with the wind towards the window.
