Naive

Through the jagged glass

Of rust-stricken window

In a coarse bed

With arm as a pillow

These silent hazel eyes

Appreciate and marvel

And dream a lot,

Of all the impossibles…

Of Wishes And Dreams…

Wishes like fireflies

Held tenderly in a palm

Igniting and fading off

A turbulent sea, seemingly calm.

So vibrant, all of them

So alluring, their lust

Clinging to the hem

Stuck as iron with rust

So deceptive at times

Like a flame to a moth.

They cluster to tease me

Like a calm wave in an endless sea

Too many to handle

Flickering like a candle

They wink as I blink

They hide as I seek

Flying in its gravity

Ebbing in its flow

As a silent whisper

Or an eager shout

As an endless sea

Reflecting serenity –

Dreams, O’ dear dreams
Chase me through eternity!
